“Find This Card – Get Free Art” – A New Company and Website Built By Artists Determined to Bring Art to the Masses
Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2011
Artists know it is difficult it is to introduce their work to the world. Most artists want to get discovered, but few get the opportunities to show their work to the right people. Some artists just want to bestow their work on the world – just for the sake of sharing.
A small group of artists in several states banded together to develop a new website and distribution program – a “finders keepers” game involving a postcard. It is self-funded by the artists.
“Artists pay a commission to galleries, pay fees to participate in art festivals, pay rent for studio space…” explains Ester Rosepink, “why not pay just a little in postage to let the world experience your work?”
One side says it all: “Find This Card – Get Free Art.” The artists provide a drawing, a painting, a limited edition print, a photograph. Every piece of art is ready to frame, hang or use. The art will arrive by mail within a few weeks of finding the card.
Each “Find This Card – Get Free Art” postcard has a unique code. The “finder” submits their address, the unique code and the location they found the card. The “finder” simply puts the “Find This Card – Get Free Art” postcard in another place to be found.
Postcards have already been in circulation – and found in restaurants, salons, art supply stores, and other locations in Arizona, California, Illinois, New York, Oregon & Virginia. The bulk are being launched now; distributed and shared throughout the country.
“I’m soooooooo excited,” states Alison Luke from Maine, NY who found her card in her mailbox and left it in a restaurant in Binghamton, NY “I love it – I can’t wait to hang it on my wall!”
Locations where the cards are found and redeemed, rules and the current artist in circulation are posted online at http://findthiscardgetfreeart.com.
This month’s artist is Sandhi Schimmel Gold [http://www.schimmelart.com whose original work – Junk Mail Mosaics – are in private, corporate and museum collections in the U.S. and Europe.
Instructions on how to get your own “Find This Card – Get Free Art” cards are located on the web site.
